Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles gets a Sequel

Well the movie hasn’t even been release in Australia yet but it looks like TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES already has a sequel greenlit after banking $65million across the US plus another $28.7million via other countries.

The sequel is set to open in the US on the 3rd June 2016 with screenwriters Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec already attached once again plus Michael Bay’s production company Platnium Dunes will also be back producing. I’m really not surprised it smashed the box office, and for its target market by the looks of it, it gives up the goods but for us 30+ lovers of the original films I think we might have to let it go as things have changed and obviously its not going to make a difference how much we whinge about it.

BUT critics across america have smashed the film with it currently sitting at 19% on Rotten Tomatoes with the only film close to it is the Cameron Diaz/Jason Segel flick Sex Tape which is on the complete other end of the spectrum audience. Funnily enough Michael Bays flick Transformers: Age of Extinction is sitting on 18%…

We still haven’t seen TMNT and we won’t be for another few weeks yet but count me intrigued, Ill be honest I don’t love the trailers it looks terrible and maybe the film will be aswell but still I’m going to reserve total judgement until I sit down and watch it.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES opens September 11.
