Luna Launches Outdoor Programs

Luna Palace Cinemas has unveiled the programs for the 2016-2017 season at Camelot and Luna Outdoor.

This summer, catch the latest films, advance screenings, premieres and special events under the stars at Mosman Park and Leederville. Camelot Outdoor, in association with Mosarts, will kick off on 8 December with the Perth premiere of the hotly-anticipated LA LA LAND. Enjoy jazz and oysters freshly shucked by resident seafood maestro Andy Grljusich ahead of this bright and playful romantic musical from director Damien Chazelle (WHIPLASH) starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.

A new addition to the program every third Wednesday of the month is COOL PERTH NIGHTS, featuring pre-show entertainment from some of the best contemporary acoustic acts in town. Luna Palace has other special nights on its calendar, including carol singing, a visit from Santa and one of the most beloved festive movies of all time, LOVE ACTUALLY, on Christmas Eve; live music and prize giveaways ahead of a New Year’s Eve screening of the romantic science fiction thriller PASSENGERS, directed by Morten Tyldum and starring Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt.

If you’re looking for something to do with your beloved on February 14, we can’t think of anything better than snuggling up under the stars at Camelot for a special screening of the quintessential Valentine’s Day movie SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE, complete with prize giveaways and fairy floss courtesy of Floss and Popcorn Supply Company. Luna Outdoor will open on 15 December with the smash hit Italian film PERFECT STRANGERS, a fiendishly clever take on decorum in the age of modern technology. The night will feature pre-show extras, including a complimentary glass of Wine by Brad on entry and tasty pizza from Siena’s in Leederville.

The Luna Outdoor season highlights include Jim Jarmusch’s GIMME DANGER, Amy Berg’s JANIS: LITTLE GIRL BLUE, Hailee Stenfeld in THE EDGE OF SEVENTEEN and a New Year’s Eve celebratory screening of LA LA LAND. There are also pre-show treats courtesy of Maharaja Indian Restaurant in celebration of the release of LION, a rousing true tale of a lost Indian child, adopted by Australian parents, searching for home; and wine and pizza nights for MANCHESTER BY THE SEA and PASSENGERS; plus a special opening for the much anticipated TRAINSPOTTING 2. In addition there will be entertainment hosted by Monkey Collective immersive guru James Palm and ever popular host Tristan Fidler ahead of the sensational THE ROOM screenings.
