Brad Pitt Waging War on Sydney

Brad Pitt Waging War on Sydney

First Leonardo DiCaprio for Great Gatsby and now Brad Pitt for World War Z; kudos to Sydney for pulling some big names for their Aussie film premieres this year!

Paramount announced yesterday that Brad Pitt, along with director Marc Forster and producer Dede Gardner, will be walking the red carpet for the World War Z premiere in Sydney on Sunday June 9th.

Based on the Max Brooks novel, World War Z tells of United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt) who traverses the world in a race against time to stop a pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening humanity itself (aka Zombies!)

With zombie-related entertainment coming out of our ears lately, it will be interesting to see how this latest addition to the genre is received. With a big star and an equally large budget, clearly the studios aren’t concerned.

Sian's love for movies spawned from having a tight mother whose generosity stretched only to hiring movies once a week for entertainment. As a pre-teen Sian spent more pocket money then she earned on cinema tickets and thus sought a job at the cinema. Over the next decade she rose to be one of the greats in her backwater, six-screen cinema complex, zooming through the ranks from candy bar wench with upselling superpowers, to pasty projectionist, to a manager rocking a pencil skirt. Sian went on to study Journalism at university though feels her popcorn shovelling days were far more educational
