A number of sources, alright, Internet gossip, has suggested that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker could have a seriously long running time. The longest ever, folk have hinted. However, filmmaker J.J. Abrams has revealed the movie will actually run for two hours and 21 minutes and not an extra 15 minutes longer as originally thought.
Abrams who was doing advance publicity for the movie, does not know the exact length yet, explaining the timing could alter by a minute or two, depending on how the end-credits work out.
For those keeping score, Star Wars: The Last Jedi will remain the longest Star Wars movie at 152 minutes, followed by Episode II (142 minutes), The Rise of Skywalker (141 minutes) then Episode III (140 minutes) and Force Awakens (138 minutes).
And in related news, the Baby Yoda GIFS that were on Giphy, that were pulled down, have now been put up again. For those who haven’t been following this, the Internet has gone crazy for a particular character on the new Disney+ streaming show The Mandalorian. The character has been referred to as Baby Yoda (but is as yet unnamed). There was speculation, but no confirmation that the GIFS were removed for copyright reasons, Disney being known for its diligence in applying copyright law. After several days and no detailed explanation from Giphy, just a public apology from them to Disney, the world can now access GIFS of Baby Yoda (not its actual name) from Giphy once more.
And lastly, argue this one among yourselves, but GIF is actually pronounced “jif”. Steve Wilhite the creator of the GIF file format says so.
