Reports are coming out now claiming that filming on the sequel to the 2009 film ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ starring Hugh Jackman and directed by Gavin Hood has been delayed. It was previously expected that the film would enter principal photography during the second half of 2011 but it now appears that this will be pushed out until the first half of 2012.
The sequel currently has James Mangold attached as the director, his previous films include ‘Knight and Day’ as well as ‘3:10 to Yuma’ and the Johnny Cash biopic ‘Walk the Line’. Difficulty with location scouting in Japan where much of the film is expected to take place is being blamed for the delay specifically the difficulty in weather related considerations.
With these concerns in mind the production may switch the location to areas of Canada, or possibly settle upon a combination of both Canada and Japan.
