Jaws will always be one of my favorite movies. I’m sure people owned it on VHs and then switched to DVD and now are hoping to own it on Blu Ray as well. Depending on what you love about the film, you want to enjoy it the way it was intended, with no tampering and no additions to the perfect film that you love.
Well Jaws fans rejoice as Speilberg has announced that he will NOT be digitaly altering Jaws for the blu ray release nor will he with any of his other films. He knows we love it as it is, maybe now Mr Jucas will relize that keeping a classic film classic is not a bad thing. You can brighten the colour and remove the scratches but the warmth will remain.
“There’s going to be no more digital enhancements or digital additions to anything based on any film I direct. I’m not going to do any corrections digitally to even wires that show … At this point right now I think letting movies exist in the era, with all the flaws and all of the flourishes, is a wonderful way to mark time and mark history.”
