Perth-dwellers, as we move through a Leap Year February into March there are still great movies to catch in the evenings at the Luna Outdoor Cinema in Leederville. Screenings commence at 7:45 PM. Here are this week’s films.
DEMON SLAYER: TO THE HASHIRA TRAINING (WED, 28 FEB)
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training will allow fans to revisit the gripping finale of the Swordsmith Village Arc while getting a sneak peek at the highly anticipated Hashira Training Arc in one extra-sized blockbuster experience.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training marks the first time fans can watch the finale from the Swordsmith Village Arc at Luna Leederville and the first-time-ever they can see the beginning of the Hashira Training Arc.
Tanjiro undergoes rigorous training with the Stone Hashira, Himejima, in his quest to become a Hashira. Meanwhile, Muzan continues to search for Nezuko and Ubuyashiki.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training will show Episode 11 from the Swordsmith Village Arc, featuring the conclusion to the fierce battle between Tanjiro and Upper Four, Hantengu, and Nezuko’s triumph over the sun. It’s followed by Episode 1 of the Hashira Training Arc, featuring the beginning of the training conducted by the Hashira in preparation for the forthcoming final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji.

BASSENDREAM (SUN, 3 MAR)
The hit of the Revelation Film Festival and Luna Outdoor is back on our screens! Tim Barretto, from Hope St Productions and director of Bassendream, will be at Luna Outdoor to introduce and talk about his wonderfully engaging microbudget WA hit Bassendream before the film starts at 7.45pm.

Rev celebrates local micro-budget filmmaking with this feature shot on a shoe-string budget entirely on 16mm film that’s awash with 90’s nostalgia. Captured on 16mm film with a unique tone and freewheeling rhythm, Bassendream revisits the tender interactions, eccentric escapades and extreme independence we all remember from growing up when the backyards were bigger and home was just a place to sleep.
Against a musical backdrop of Australian classics from the era, this is a raw, refreshing and playful look at the growing pains of youth, back before the internet had all the answers.
