TMF has reported that Warner Bros. are considering Mad Men star Jon Hamm for the role of Superman in the next film that Chris Nolan and David Goyer are currently working on as producer and writer respectively.
Jon Hamm’s acting credits aside from Mad Men include ‘Sucker Punch’, ‘The Town’, as well as an uncredited part in the recent ‘A-Team’ remake.
Details are pretty slim at this stage and Hamm is one of a few names that have been floating around recently, Zachary Levi from the tv series ‘Chuck’ has also been rumoured to be up for consideration in recent months so without any formal announcements anything could happen.
I’ve said this before but I still think it’s a shame that it’s looking like Brandon Routh won’t be continuing in the role. His performance in ‘Superman Returns’ for me captured the character well, and should the new film move towards a different feel for the character, I think ‘Routh’ would be able to adapt.
