Josh Brolin briefly spoke to Extra about the likelihood of a sequel to the 1985 film ‘The Goonies’ directed by Richard Donner and written by Steven Speilberg and Chris Columbus.
Brolin, who played Brandon Walsh in the Goonies film, was promoting his new film ‘Jonah Hex’ when he told Extra;
‘I saw Steven Speilberg on the street about a month and a half ago, and I asked the reality. I hear there is a script, yes, but there’s no talk about doing a Goonies sequel at this very moment.’
Discussion of a Goonies sequel has been popping up on and off for a number of years now and while little progress ever seems to eventuate the idea of a sequel never completely fades away either. The original film followed an entertaining group of kids on an adventure after discovering a treasure map.
You can see Brolin in ‘Jonah Hex’ when it opens around Australia on the 5th August.
