Edward Pressman spoke to MTV about the current status of the reboot for the Crow franchise. According to Pressman the screenplay for the reboot is now finished, casting is progressing and the plan is to begin filming during 2010.
Pressmen then went on to explain that the films settings will still draw from the gritty elements of the original film however the setting will diverge from what has been previously explored.
The original Crow film starring Brandon Lee was released in 1994 with a box office gross of approximately $94 million worldwide. The film spawned several sequels as well as a TV series which was cancelled after one season.
I am a fan of the original Crow film though haven’t watched it in some time, a reboot to the series is probably the best way to continue the franchise at this stage though with details so slim it’s hard to ascertain how this one might work out.
