IT will be R rated.

Like a lot of other projects, It seems to have fallen into development hell after Cary Fukunaga left 3 weeks before it was meant to start production. Many since doubting the remake would go ahead after all, even with Mama’s Andy Muschetti attached as director and writer.

In a recent interview, producer Roy Lee, has eased fans by confirming that there are no plans to abandon the project. “It will hopefully be shooting later this year, we just got the California tax credit. Gary Doberman wrote the most recent draft working with Andy Muschetti, so it’s still being envisioned as two movies. It is very close to the source material in one way but very different if you look at it as a literary piece of work. We’re taking it and making the movie from the point of view of the kids, and then making another movie from the point of view of the adults, that could potentially then be cut together like the novel. But it’s going be a really fun way of making this movie.”

Lee has also stated that they are sticking with plans to keep it R-rated because it is about a clown. Which sounds like music to the ears for all horror and Stephen King fans.

We will keep you up to date with any further news.

Best known as the international woman of mystery and the Chandler Bing among her friends. Monika grew up in a movie loving family in Europe, which meant she was not subjected to much censorship.  Her love of all things horror and action began very early on as a result.  Despite it all, she is not as big of an oddball as everyone (including family) originally predicted.   Thinks the term "chick flick" should be banned worldwide.
