The BBQ is now open in cinemas across Australia and we had the opportunity to talk to two of the film stars Shane Jacobson who you may know from film such as Kenny and Oddball and Manu Feildel from Australia’s TV show My Kitchen Rules.
THIS SUMMER, THE STEAKS ARE HIGH in the new comedy celebrating an Aussie icon, the humble backyard barbecue – THE BBQ (PG). Dazza (Shane Jacobson) has a passion for barbequing, but when he accidentally gives his neighbours food poisoning, his reputation and dignity are on the line. To make amends he seeks tutelage from the tyrannical Scottish chef known simply as ‘The Butcher’ (Magda Magda Szubanski). Together they enter an international barbecue competition, pitting Dazza’s homespun techniques against the world’s best BBQ chefs (like Manu Fieldel’s character Andre Montblanc).
