THE A-TEAM follows the exciting and daring exploits of Hannibal Smith and his colourful team of former Special Forces soldiers who were set up for a crime they did not commit. Going “rogue,” they utilize their unique talents – and eccentricities – to try and clear their names and find the true culprit.
When I heard an A-TEAM movie was greenlit I was pretty hesitant, the biggest part of the TV Series was the fact that to me all the guys seemed to have a connection and worked really well off each other, I just didn’t think they could bring that same sort of TV chemistry to the big screen but luckily for us they did! and they did it well! With a primary cast including Liam Neeson (Hannibal), Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson (B.A), Sharlto Copley (Mad Murdock) and Bradley Cooper (Face) this Television to Big Screen Adaptation takes off big time.
Now if you think your walking into a well thought out script with the hope of walking out feeling like you have learnt something you might as well turn around and walk out, A-TEAM is a non-stop action movie that you don’t have to think to much about, its a movie where you can just sit, relax and have alot of fun. Come to think of it its a good film to take your mates along to! Not really a date movie though.
As far as action films go this ones up there with some of the best of the last few years, plus some of the comedic elements of the film are hilarious. Sharlto Copley who is still relatively new to the industry with his acting debut only last year in the Sci-Fi Hit District 9 welcomes us with the hilarious Murdock, every time that Murdock graces us onscreen you can’t help but laugh. Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper are also very strong onscreen, Bradley seems to take on the Face role with ease and Liam with all the hardcore charisma that comes with playing Hannibal.
There’s not many downfalls to this film granted the CGI in some spots are pretty average but with those scenes and what they are trying to pull off I sorta got over it pretty quick. The stunts are really crazy, one that involves a tank and come to think of it any stunt when murdocks involved are mental and hilarious. Quinton ‘Ramage’ Jackson pulls off the B.A character fairly well but just didn’t seem to embody the whole Mr T sort of attitude, anytime “Pity” and “Fool” came out of his mouth I cringed a bit. Plus Quinton’s recent comments about how “acting is kinda gay” sorta annoyed me a bit, so lets hope he doesn’t do many more movies.
A-TEAM is a sensational action, adventure, comedy movie! Make it a boys night out and Enjoy it. A-TEAMm hits cinemas next week, I
give this film 3.5/5 Stars.
