AccessReel Reviews – Jackass 3D

Johnny Knoxville and his buddies are up to their daredevil comic antics again. And this time they’re coming at ya’ in 3D.

Its funny to think that JACKASS started all the way back in 2000 with the show on MTV then in 2002 there first feature film but in reality it all started with a magazine called “Big Brother”, which was a skateboarding related humour mag, later on down the track Steve-O and Weeman got added and basically the rest is history even though at one stage back in 2001 the show nearly ended as the censors and MTV increasing gave notes to the guys telling them what they could and couldn’t do so Knoxville and the guys nearly pulled the pin! But thankfully they soldiered on!

When you walk into a Jackass film all you really do is expect stupidity and a couple of laughs but in JACKASS 3D I laughed my ass off all the way through it, my Jaw was literately sore by the end of it. Of course there are your just utter stupid stunts that pretty much give you a ‘wtf’ moment (a ‘sweat’ suit anyone?). When I got to see it the cinema was fairly packed and we were all laughing together, it’s a pretty rare thing when you can walk into a cinema and actually enjoy a film with everyone! Not just yourself and a mate.

Rumour has it there is enough footage ready for another JACKASS and with the success in the US Box Office I really do expect to see another one very soon. The 3D was something interesting in this one as well the guys really did seem to utilise its full potential in some scenes especially the opening and closing sequences. Now JACKASS isn’t usually a film I would rave about but honestly how often is it you walk into a cinema and have a great time watching idiots hurt themselves? Never?

JACKASS 3D is in cinemas tomorrow and I give it 4 out of 5, on sheer comedy and stupidity alone. If you don’t get a laugh out of this one you must have some issues.
