Daniel Radcliffe returns to the screen in his first adult, non-Harry Potter feature film role. He plays young lawyer Arthur Kipps who leaves his son in London to settle the legal affairs of the recently deceased Alice Drablow. He discovers a series of inexplicable accidents and suicides have forced the parents of her village to barricade their children indoors, as if protecting them from an unseen foe.
The supernatural thriller is directed by James Watkins (EDEN LAKE). The screenwriter is Jane Goldman who collaborated on Mathew Vaughn’s KICK-ASS (2010) and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (2011). The film is adapted from Susan Hill’s 1983 novel. The movie also stars Ciarin Hinds and Janet McTeer.
THE WOMAN IN BLACK will be released in early 2012. Until then, enjoy the atmospheric trailer.
