Albert Brooks – DRIVE

Albert Brooks – DRIVE

With the release of DRIVE only a few days away, Pinnacle Films offered me a chance to talk to the Legendary Albert Brooks. Brooks plays the Villain of the film which also stars Ryan Gosling, Ron Perlman, Bryan Cranston and Carey Mulligan.

Brooks is an accomplished actor, writer, director and comedian who started out doing LIVE standup on such shows as ‘The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson’ went on to become a writer/director for a good handful of ‘Saturday Night LIVE’ episodes before he got cast in his first Mainstream role in Scorsese’s ‘Taxi Driver’ opposite Robert De Niro he even got nominated for a ‘Best Supporting Actor’ Academy Award for his role in the 1987 ‘Broadcast News’ from there he has quite the impressive resume to numerous films he has written and directed, voicing characters in ‘The Simpsons’ and to his biggest role yet, playing the voice of Marlin in the 2003 film ‘Finding Nemo’. The role of Bernie Rose in DRIVE is so far from what he has ever done before but he nails it, definitely a role that I think will open him up to a whole variety of work in the future.

DRIVE opens in cinemas on the 27th of October. You can check out the trailer here
