Universal are going back for another piece of “warm apple pie” in the just announced film American Reunion (no word if that’s the actual title or not yet). Coming back to the once popular and profitable franchise are Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy.
The feelers are being put out to the original cast of actors and producers are hoping to sign up a few of the old crew. The first American Pie movie made a whopping $523 million at the box office, while the last few entries have been released straight to dvd and showing a decline in quality and original cast members.
The most successful person from the series, Alison Hannigan, has not been mentioned, but hopefully they will work it around her schedule on the popular tv show “how I met Your Mother’.
For those that weren’t around back in 1999, American Pie had the same impact to comedy that The Hangover has recently.
The two directors of Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay have written a script and are directing.
No official date has been set for release yet.
