An 80’s TV series to base it on, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum to star in, an approximate $40 million production budget resulting in over $200 million in box office revenues all spells one thing in the movie industry these days and that’s sequel.
Something of a sleeper hit, 21 Jump Street performed well both financial and critically, with generally positive reviews from critics. Reports are now surfacing that the studio is looking to move quickly on a sequel with filming schedule to begin in the second half of 2012 a mere 6 – 8 months following theatrical release of the first film.
If all goes ahead we could be seeing a sequel back on screens as soon as the second half of 2013! Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are both currently reported to be returning however whether the original films director will be back is still to be confirmed.
