We all had a feeling it was going to happen, why would Warner Bros/DC want to go up against the Marvel juggernaunt releasing Batman Vs Superman on the same weekend as Captain America 3? Well we knew Marvel would never change their date so obviously they won the battle and Warners moved the date.
Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice has now been moved in the US to March 25, 2016 instead of May 6th, 2016 a whole three months earlier. I totally expect an announcement in Australia soon for the release of BvS to the new date here of March 24th, 2016.
I think whats good about the move to March is the fact that the Warner execs must have so much faith in the flick that they are moving it out of the American Summer period where its bascially box office gold to a more quieter time of the year and by looking at the release charts right now it only has a few movies to compete with including the Beverley Hills Cop movie (which I totally expect Paramount to now move) an untitled Illumination project (which is the Despicable Me/Minions franchise) and a film called Geostorm which is a Sci-fi Adventure film starring Gerard Butler.
Well let’s hope the date move is because of the above reason and not the latter, time will tell!
So there you have it, Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice is now releasing March 2016
