Star Wars: The Last Jedi has opened in the US at $220 million only 11 percent less then The Force Awakens with a worldwide weekend total of $450 million. This makes Last Jedi the second highest opening weekend of all time in the US.
Here’s the totals for the rest of the world, with Australia at $20.9 million at 324 locations, the second biggest opening ever, trailing Star Wars: The Force Awakens which rang up $27.2 million a year ago.

Germany – $23.6 M (2nd largest ever)
France – $18.1 M
Japan – $14.4 M
Russia – $8.5 M
Spain – $8.3 M
Brazil – $7.2 M
Italy – $7.0 M
Mexico – $7.0 M
Sweden – $6.0 M (2nd largest ever)
Korea – $5.1 M
This also makes The Last Jedi the 5th Highest opening weekend worldwide behind films such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($483M), Jurassic World ($525.5m), Star Wars The Force Awakens ($529m) and out in front The Fate of the Furious with $541.9m.
