It has been over a decade since the last movie but principal production finally began on the third installment in October.
Renee Zellweger, who has reprised her role as Bridget Jones, recently stated that she never thought it would happen after years of production problems. She added “It’s really a nice reunion with old friends. It’s always wonderful to be back in London and I love this character, so it’s been a real treat to get to revisit it again. I’m really glad to be doing it.”
Everyone’s favourite love rat, Daniel Cleaver, is not featured in this version of the story. We reported earlier that Hugh Grant refused to return after reading the original script. Instead, fans will get to see Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy) causing some trouble in Bridget’s life.
While many worried he would not return either, recent pictures have surfaced of Colin Firth alongside Zellweger and a baby on set, confirming his involvment.
The first two Bridget Jones films were very popular with viewers, having earned over $540 million worldwide.
Bridget Jones’s Baby is in theaters in Sept 2016.
