Camelot: A Most Congenial Spot

Camelot: A Most Congenial Spot

Perthians are justly proud of our Western Australian beaches. But not everyone likes getting beach sand in their crocs. Some people like the outdoors AND the movies. And our city does outdoor cinema to a tee. Camelot Outdoor Cinema is a unique and intimate venue located in the heart of Mosman Park. It screens the Luna Outdoor program in picturesque Art Deco surrounds.

This season you can catch some terrific films, including the hotly-anticipated and likely Oscar contender LA LA LAND (pictured above), starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone; the Italian box office smash hit WHERE AM I GOING?; the sweeping drama THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS, starring Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender; A UNITED KINGDOM, based on the inspirational true-life romance between Botswanan King Seretse Khama and his British wife; JACKIE, featuring a stellar performance by Natalie Portman as First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy following the assassination of President JFK; and Martin Scorsese’s much-anticipated SILENCE.

The Camelot Outdoor season also features live music nights. On the first Wednesday of every month listen to some jazz courtesy of Perth Jazz Society while indulging in some freshly shucked oysters; on the second Wednesday of the month get a sneak peek at some of the acts appearing at the 2017 Fairbridge Festival, and on the third Wednesday of the month Cool Perth Nights will bring you the best local acoustic acts. There is a licensed bar at the venue – no BYO. There are plenty of food options although picnics are also welcome.

Movies. Jazz. Oysters. An Art Deco outdoor cinema in Mosman Park between the river and the sea. In short, there’s simply not a more congenial spot. Than Camelot. (Shout out to Lerner and Lowe fans!)
