Casting Call: Steven Spielberg Searching Australia for New Child Star





An Australia wide casting search has been launched for the lead child role in an upcoming Steven Spielberg film.

McGregor Casting are currently searching Australia wide for a 6-9 year old boy to play a lead role in a film that will be directed by Steven Spielberg. The film, titled THE KIDNAPPING OF EDGARDO MORTARA, is based on the novel by David Kertzer and tells the story of a young Italian Jewish boy who is stolen from his family and forcibly raised as a Christian.

This is an OPEN casting call and all are invited to apply.

The requirements? The young male actor must be able to pass as a 6 year old and appear to be Jewish Italian. 

They describe the role as a “unique and very challenging opportunity for a truly special boy”.
