CinefestOZ has released its full festival program online. The festival brings film premieres, documentaries, French features, Indigenous and family film events, Side Bar short film sets and more to the South West from August 23-27. Filmmakers and stars will be out in force supporting their films, with one of the strongest lineups in the festival’s 10-year history.
The program details over 95 film and event options, including seven world premieres, nine Australian premieres and 35 Western Australian premieres. It takes in events in Bunbury, Busselton, Margaret River and surrounds; from cosy Side Bars to black-tie red carpet gala nights.
Australian premieres include 2:22 is a story of love that will not die and lovers that may not survive, starring Theresa Palmer and Michiel Huisman and The Gateway, a sci-fi thriller about bringing a loved one back from the dead., starring Jacqueline McKenzie and Myles Pollard.
The stellar lineup of French features includes A Bag of Marbles – Two young Jewish brothers are sent off by their father to escape Nazi-occupied Paris in 1941 and The Dancer – A girl from the American Midwest becomes the toast of the Belle Epoque cabarets.
