I have to admit, this news excites me! I have been waiting for this for years.
Director Danny Boyle has revealed that, if scheduling allows, his next flick will be the long-awaited sequel to his 1996 cult classic TRAINSPOTTING.
Even more exciting, is that his four main actors – Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle – have all agreed to reprise their roles….if they can fit it in (it’s a hard life being an in demand actor!)
The sequel will be based on the TRAINSPOTTING author Irvine Welsh’s 2002 novel PORNO which revisits the heroin-addicted characters a decade after the events of TRAINSPOTTING. As the title suggests, it follows the four main characters as they embark into the world of pornography.
John Hodge, the screenwriter of TRAINSPOTTING has already completed the sequel’s script, which is tentatively titled TRAINSPOTTING 2. Boyle is hailing the script as “terrific”.
We’ll keep you updated as things develop!
