Deus Ex the cyper-punk video game series is looking like it might be seeing a film adaptation. Developed by Ion Storm the original game in the series was release in 2000 and was a combination of first person shooter, stealth and role playing game set in a dystopian future.
It is being reported that CBS Films have announced an adaptation of the most recent game in the series ‘Deus Ex: Human Revolution’, a prequel to the original game released in 2011, where players take on the role of Adam Jensen, in a world with nanotechnological augmentations against a setting where multinational corporations have expanded their power and influence beyond the control of Government.
No crew or casting announcements have been made at this stage and the film is likely some time off release right now. However given the immersive nature of the video games and the depth of story this is a series ripe with material that would make for a compelling film.
