Doctor Who Joins Terminator Reboot Cast!

Move over John Connor! Doctor Who is the Terminator’s new best bud, with Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions revealing the addition of Matt Smith to the TERMINATOR: GENISIS cast list.

Smith (famous for his turn as the eleventh Doctor) will play a shiny new character with a “strong connection to John Connor”. He joins the infamous Arnie, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi and Byung Hun Lee.

Plot details are scarce, though rumours circulate that the flick will “fold into” James Cameron’s first film in the franchise – THE TERMINATOR.

In a recent video, HitFix editor Drew McWeeny discussed the screenplay, which he claims contains a sequence that essentially takes place in a scene from the first Terminator movie:

“There’s a scene in the script where literally, we see the scene in the first Terminator where Arnold steps out, the punks threaten him, he rips Bill Paxton’s heart out and takes his clothes and wanders off. And as soon as that scene ends, another Arnold Schwarzenegger who’s older, and bearded and a very different version of the Terminator, comes walking in from the other side and plays another scene, right at the scene of that first incident.”

It will be interesting to see if this is indeed true.

The flick is slated for worldwide release July 1, 2015

Sian's love for movies spawned from having a tight mother whose generosity stretched only to hiring movies once a week for entertainment. As a pre-teen Sian spent more pocket money then she earned on cinema tickets and thus sought a job at the cinema. Over the next decade she rose to be one of the greats in her backwater, six-screen cinema complex, zooming through the ranks from candy bar wench with upselling superpowers, to pasty projectionist, to a manager rocking a pencil skirt. Sian went on to study Journalism at university though feels her popcorn shovelling days were far more educational
