Fate of the Furious Biggest Opening of 2017!

FATE OF THE FURIOUS raced to $20 million on its first day at the international box office. This, Universal says, places FATE at the top of the list of biggest opening films of 2017 thus far.

FATE had the highest-grossing opening day of all time in Egypt and Indonesia, and the top opening day for THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS franchise in Belgium, Egypt, Indonesia and Korea.

Box office analysts expect FATE to rake in $100+ million in the “domestic” (aka U.S) box office over the Easter weekend, which would place it in second place, after FURIOUS 7 (2015), for the biggest opening in the franchise.

Globally, they expect the flick to reel in around $380million.

Back in 2013, FURIOUS 6 pulled $97.3 million in its first weekend. FURIOUS 7 took $150million at the US Box office.

Sian's love for movies spawned from having a tight mother whose generosity stretched only to hiring movies once a week for entertainment. As a pre-teen Sian spent more pocket money then she earned on cinema tickets and thus sought a job at the cinema. Over the next decade she rose to be one of the greats in her backwater, six-screen cinema complex, zooming through the ranks from candy bar wench with upselling superpowers, to pasty projectionist, to a manager rocking a pencil skirt. Sian went on to study Journalism at university though feels her popcorn shovelling days were far more educational
