French Film Festival Flourishes

French Film Festival Flourishes

The 25th annual Alliance Française French Film Festival returns to Luna Palace Cinemas 18 March – 6 April, 2014 with a mouth-watering selection of Gallic fare, including a tantalising lineup of features and documentaries, a smattering of special events and a very special guest.

Pierre Rochefort, one of France’s hottest young actors, is our guest of honour at the Festival’s Opening Night – Tuesday 18 March at Cinema Paradiso. Pierre stars in the film Going Away – an intimate thriller from renowned director Nicole Garcia – and he will also participate in a special Q&A screening at Cinema Paradiso on 19 March.

The son of adored screen-star Jean Rochefort and famed actor/director Nicole Garcia, Rochefort initially trained for a career in music but an inherent love of acting led him to switch studies. To date he has amassed several credits including Farewell My Queen and the eerie TV series, The Returned. Going Away marks his first lead role.
