Guest Announcements for Supanova’s Sydney/Perth 2016 Tour!

I do love it when a shiny new press release hits my inbox and especially when its from the Supanova team! Once again Accessreel.com will be at this years Supanova giving you guys all the wonderful content we can give you over the weekend. Here is the latest announcement.. 

Tickets to Supanova Pop Culture Expo – Australia’s Comic-Con – are on sale from today for the Sydney (June 17-19) and Perth (June 25-26) events, and the celebrity guest lineup is looking utterly spectacular!

Considering the stunning Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), charismatic James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and enigmatic Jason David Frank (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) have already been announced it really is a powerhouse list of further guests being announced to coincide with tickets finally being available. Joining them are:

Shannen Doherty and Holly Marie Combs. The pair bewitched audiences playing sisters Prue and Piper on the popular series, Charmed. Shannen is well-known for her role as Brenda on Beverley Hills, 90210, while Holly currently stars as Ella on television’s, Pretty Little Liars.

Julie Benz, another enchanting actress, amassed cult fandom playing Darla in the hugely successful Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Julie has ruled the small screen ever since, with leading roles on Dexter, Defiance and Hawaii 5-0.

Sean Astin, child star of The Goonies and later in the acclaimed role of Sam Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, personifies nostalgia, adventure and fantasy through acting versatility. With recent roles on The Strain and Con Man, Sean currently lends his voice to Raphael in the animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Joining Astin is Middle-Earth co-star John Noble who notably starred as Denethor in The Lord of the Rings. The Aussie actor currently appears on the drama Elementary having only recently finished four seasons as Dr Walter Bishop from the series, Fringe.

Troy Baker is the quintessential voice actor. Having played the antagonist in almost every anime and video game possible, Troy’s is a repertoire to envy. He recently gave voice to villains Harvey Dent/Two-Face and the Joker in Batman’s Arkham franchise, and as Pagan Min in Far Cry 4.

Joining Troy from one of the most successful anime franchises of all time are voice-actors Sean Schemmel and Christopher Sabat. The pair play lead characters Goku and Vegeta respectively, from Dragon Ball Z. Sean and Christopher have a ‘Kamehameha’ amount of other voice credits between them, including the animated series’ One PieceTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Fullmetal Alchemist.

Jeremy Shada is another notable voice; Finn the Human from Cartoon Network’s hit animated series, Adventure Time. Fans may also know Jeremy as the voice of Robin in the animated series, Batman: The Brave and The Bold.

Straight from the pages come international comic creators Cully Hamner (RedThe QuestionDC’s New 52), Frank Cho (Liberty Meadows), Arthur Adams (Long ShotUncanny X-Men) and Joyce Chin (VampirellaXena: Warrior Princess). The quartet brings experience working with both comic book publishers, such as Marvel and DC, and self-publishing.

Supanova’s literature lineup is also looking solid. Strong heroines, feminist themes and exciting, well-constructed plots are Tamora Pierce’s recipe for success, with her fantasy novels entertaining and inspiring generations of readers around the globe. Song of the Lioness was her breakout novel, and she has been writing for a young adult audience since.

Likewise, fantasy author Anne Bishop writes fantasy that challenges the reader. Her Black Jewel series centers around strong female characters, where only women may rule.

Joining the writing game is Stephanie ‘Hex’ Bendixsen and Steven ‘Bajo’ O’Donnell, of the ABC’s Good Game and Good Game Spawn Point. The pair is taking gaming fandom to the next level and set to release their children’s book, Pixel Raiders #1: Dig World, due for release in May 2016.

Author and Sleek Geek Adam Spencer will also be attendance in Sydney. A mathematician (with first-class honours) and stand-up comedian, Adam has enjoyed a successful career in radio and television. In 2014, Adam returned to his geek origins, releasing his Big Book of Numbers, and recently followed up with A World of Numbers.

Amid these guests is former professional boxer Kostya Tszyu. The four-time Light Welterweight World Champion is on a mission to spread the message: Bullies Aren’t Scary. His book of the same title was co-written with Dustin Warburton, who has collaborated with other high profile sporting stars to produce a series of children’s titles.

Additionally, joining Supanova exclusively in Perth are Ross O’Donovan and Holly Conrad, aka RubberNinja and Commander Holly. The internet sensations have cultivated a loyal following through their respective YouTube channels and appear on a web-series called Game Grumps.

There are further guest reveals to come over the coming months, but with such an amazing cast already announced for the Sydney and Perth Supanova Expos they’re set to be the pop culture parties of the year!
