We all knew that one day Disney would go into the “Netflix” territory and a while back Disney’s Chairman Bob Iger announced it.. we now have more details about the upcoming service.
Announced today was the name of the service which you can see above and another new series which will bring back Diego Luna, star of 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and will follow rebel spy Cassian Andor during the early days of the Rebellion and ahead of the events of Rogue One.
Other series include –
Star Wars series Disney announced recently called The Mandalorian from showrunner Jon Favreau.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7: The Clone Wars animation series has been resurrected so it can get the conclusion that the epic story deserves.
Monsters, Inc.: A yet-to-be-titled animated series based on the popular Pixar franchise.
High Fidelity: Based on the 2000 John Cusack comedy but now in TV Series form with Zoe Kravitz in the title role.
Marvel Studios characters Loki, Scarlet Witch/Vision, and Falcon/Winter Soldier, with the respective movie actors returning to reprise their roles on the small screen.
Mighty Ducks: Original Mighty Ducks screenwriter Steven Brill and original producer Jordan Kerner are returning to bring the 90’s series back to life
Plus there’s a massive slew of movies coming aswell.. mostly remakes unfortunately but I think the cool thing is the service will be listed in categories so if you want to watch Marvel you select Marvel and Star Wars well Star Wars etc.. so that’s going to make functionality really easy.
Rumour also has it the price of the service will be lower than a Netflix subscription so we can kind of expect between $10-$16 a month! So thats not too bad..
Disney+ will launch late 2019!
