20th Century Fox held a Global Press Event on the set of the brand new Independence Day movie in New Mexico. The media that attended even got treated to a screening of the original film plus a nice fireworks show, the official title for the new film is INDEPENDENCE DAY RESURGENCE.
By the looks of the title you can basically say the Aliens are coming back to reek havok again, “resurgence”. Roland Emmerich is once again behind the camera and the returning cast members will be playing their characters from the first film.
We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.
