The Irishman on the Big Screen

The Irishman on the Big Screen

Perth folk! The Irishman will screen exclusively for a limited season at The Backlot Perth from November 8.

The incredible crime drama from director Martin Scorsese has critics abuzz and is expected to lead the upcoming Awards season. Arguably Scorsese’s best picture since GoodFellas, The Irishman is a superbly acted and thrillingly shot epic mob procedural about violence, betrayal, dishonesty and emotional bankruptcy starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino.

Adapted from Charles Brandt’s 2003 true-crime potboiler about a Teamster official and lower-tier mafia figure, Frank Sheeran, who claims he killed Jimmy Hoffa, the onetime Teamster’s Union president who went missing in 1975 and was finally declared dead in 1982, though his body was never found. The Irishman unites three actors who have sometimes worked together in various permutations, though all three have never appeared in the same movie.

THE IRISHMAN will screen at The Backlot Perth for 5 sessions from November 8th – Click here to find the sessions and purchase tickets.
