‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ is being released next week in Australia, with the US having to wait until 17th May. The promotional rounds are well underway helping to push the new film directed by JJ Abrams, and while there’s plenty of Star Trek talk, inevitably Abrams is having to contend with a number of Star Wars questions about the upcoming Episode VII.Without any sense of formality the director revealed during one such press conference that he is planning on composer John Williams returning to a galaxy far far away. Williams of course has scored every Star Wars film to date, however with a long time collaboration between Abrams and Michael Giacchino there was some uncertainty surrounding Williams return.
So breathe easy Star Wars fans, with the new trilogy on the way, it looks pretty certain we’ll see the brilliance of a John Williams Star Wars composition again.
