John Williams Returns to Score New Star Wars!

John Williams may be well past retirement age, but we can expect him to wave that baton for a little while longer yet.

At 81 years old, Williams is still THE go-to guy if you want a memorable theme tune in Hollywood (I bet you can hum nearly all his work which includes Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, Jaws  and E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial to name a few).

His latest gig sees him return to score J.JAbrams’ upcoming STAR WARS: EPISODE VII.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced the news at Star Wars Celebration Europe II, a fan gathering in Messe Essen, Germany. The below video played for the crowd immediately after she revealed his attachment to the project.

In the clip, Williams discusses his fan-like love for STAR WARS, and he hints that while he is yet to read the script, we can expect to hear some of the familiar old tunes.

Enjoy!

Sian's love for movies spawned from having a tight mother whose generosity stretched only to hiring movies once a week for entertainment. As a pre-teen Sian spent more pocket money then she earned on cinema tickets and thus sought a job at the cinema. Over the next decade she rose to be one of the greats in her backwater, six-screen cinema complex, zooming through the ranks from candy bar wench with upselling superpowers, to pasty projectionist, to a manager rocking a pencil skirt. Sian went on to study Journalism at university though feels her popcorn shovelling days were far more educational
