‘Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall’ is to be directed by Jeff Wadlow (director of ‘Never Back Down’) and will feature returning cast members Aaron Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. The sequel is schedule to begin filming this month with Wadlow dropping a big hint via his twitter account about a new cast member joining the sequel.Wadlow’s twitter update stated;

6 days till we start shooting… and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f’n then!

 Without naming the actor, the obvious link there being Jim Carrey’s classic tagline from the Ace Ventura films. The character of The Colonel, is touted as a key supporting role in the film and it has previously been rumoured that Carrey was being courted for the part.

 While technically this isn’t an official announcement, the bigger surprise at this point will be if Carrey is not in the film.

The good news is with filming kicking of shortly the mid-2013 release date for ‘Kick Ass 2’ is looking pretty reliable.
