The Killing of a Sacred Deer trailer

The Killing of a Sacred Deer trailer

If you saw 2015’s THE LOBSTER with Colin Farrell, you’d remember. It was an arthouse black comedy directed, co-written, and co-produced by Yorgos Lanthimos. The film was about single people given 45 days to find a partner or they would be turned into animals.

Farrell and Lanthimos have teamed up again for THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER. This one is a psychological horror in which a surgeon forms a friendship with a sinister teenage boy with disastrous results. Or so the blurb says. Barry Keoghan is the sinister teen, you may remember him from such blockbusters as DUNKIRK. Alicia Silverstone, formerly of BLAST FROM THE PAST, also makes an appearance. And Our Nicole Kidman, Australia’s queen of the silver screen, currently enjoying a purple patch with her movie and telly choices, co-stars with Farrell.

The film has been doing the festival circuit and won a Best Screenplay award at Cannes. It will premiere in the US and UK in October and November and so the first proper trailer has hit the Information Super Highway. An Australian release date has not yet been announced.

Some may find this trailer a bit intense and weird, so be warned. It may bring about feels.  Others will no doubt enjoy this with their morning cornflakes.
