Kristen Wiig; First Newbie to Join Anchorman 2?

Anchorman’s ‘Team 4’ may be making room for yet another lady in the studio with reports that Paramount Pictures are eyeing Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) as the potential love interest for … no, not Will Ferrell, but Steven Carell’s lovable character Brick Tamland.

As of yet, no other cast has been set beyond confirmation that the original principals will return (though it is rumoured Luke Wilson may also make an appearance). Thus Wiig may take the crown as the first newbie hired for the sequel.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues is still in the scriptwriting phase, with Anchorman 1 director, Adam McKay, taking the helm once again. 

It is set for release October 2013.
