The highly anticipated trailer for the upcoming movie Les Misérables based on the musical of the same name of which is based on the french novel by author Victor Hugo that was released all the way back in 1862. The film stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter.
The film tells the story of Jean Valjean, a former prisoner who becomes mayor of a town in France. Valjean agrees to take care of Cosette, the illegitimate daughter of Fantine, and must avoid being captured again by Javert, a police inspector. After a bit of research it seems this film has been in development since the late 1980s with rumoured cast members over the years including Liza Minelli and most recently Taylor Swift.
I love the look of this trailer its pretty short but the tone of it and the music sung by Anne Hathaway is rather impressive. I really can’t wait to see the full trailer should hit within the next couple of months.
Les Misérables hits Australian Cinemas on Boxing Day.
