Any Perthians who have yet to see the Oscar-nommed flick LION, can watch it under the stars at The Luna Outdoor Cinema over this Labour Day weekend. The Australian film, based on the true story of Saroo Brierly’s amazing quest to find his Indian home, continues its phenomenonal run. A bona fide box office smash, it has gone on to take more than $100 million U.S. worldwide.
It’s on at the Luna Outdoor in Leederville at 8.00pm from Sunday 5th until Wednesday 8th March. Our balmy March weather is perfect to experience outdoor cinema and LION is a stirring tale with emotional punch.
On Thursday 9th and Friday 10th March SWORD ART ONLINE returns as an animated motion picture featuring a brand new story by original author Reki Kawahara.
Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th March is another chance to see Paul Verhoeven’s controversial ELLE. Michèle (Isabelle Huppert) seems indestructible. Head of a leading video game company, she brings the same ruthless attitude to her love life as to business. Being attacked in her home by an unknown assailant changes Michèle’s life forever. When she resolutely tracks the man down, they are both drawn into a curious and thrilling game that may, at any moment, spiral out of control.
