Summer is almost upon us. We’ve done the Melbourne Cup, which is the unofficial start of the downhill run to the Christmas holidays (ask your fellow Australians, it’s a thing). Here in Perth, the City of Lights at the Western edge of the Wide Brown Land, we are particularly fond of an outdoor cinema. Nothing beats catching a flick whilst downing a crisp, well chosen beverage and a tasty morsel.
Luna Cinemas provide two venues to enjoy your cinema under the stars. There’s the Luna Outdoor in Leederville and the Camelot Outdoor Cinema in Mosman Park. This season’s programs have been launched and you can plan your outdoor movie watching.
Camelot Outdoor Cinema kicks off on Thursday December 7 with the French romantic comedy JUST TO BE SURE, The breakout French hit of the 2017 Cannes International Film Festival. It’s followed by DUNKIRK on Friday 8, LOVING VINCENT on Saturday 9 and VICTORIA AND ABDUL on Sunday 10. Check out the rest of the line-up here.
The Luna Outdoor launches on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 December with James Franco’s excellent movie about a movie, THE DISASTER ARTIST. If you’ve seen Tommy Wiseau’s THE ROOM you’ll want to see this. If you’ve only heard about THE ROOM you should definitely check this out. And if you do want to see THE ROOM itself, then they’re screening that, too. Other highlights include LUCKY, THE FLORIDA PROJECT and CALL ME BY YOUR NAME. Check the program here.
So mark those calendars and get ready to take in the best in cinema while enjoying balmy Perth Summer evenings. See you by the light of the big screen and the silvery moon.
