A young boy named Mahito yearning for his mother ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There, death comes to an end, and life finds a new beginning. A semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death, and creation, in tribute to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.

The English language dubbed version of the film will feature the voices of Christian Bale (Ford v Ferrari, Amsterdam, The Pale Blue Eye), Dave Bautista (Dune, Guardians of the Galaxy), Gemma Chan (The Creator, Eternals, Crazy Rich Asians), Willem Dafoe (At Eternity’s Gate, The Florida Project), Karen Fukuhara (The Boys, Suicide Squad), Mark Hamill (The Machine, House of Usher), Robert Pattinson (The Batman, Tenet, upcoming Mickey 17), and Florence Pugh (Oppenheimer, Black Widow, Little Women). Luca Padovan joins the cast as Mahito Maki, and Mamoudou Athie, Tony Revolori, and Dan Stevens are featured as the Parakeets.

From filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos and producer Emma Stone comes the incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist  Dr. Godwin Baxter ( Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn.  Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.

Grab your friends and get ready to throw spoons once again as Wiseau’s disasterpiece returns to the big screen for another sensational night of the cult phenomenon that’s so bad it’s good! Hosted by either RTRFM’s Tristan Fidler (Movie Squad) or Monkey Collective Immersive’s James Palm.

The Room is basically a love triangle set in a San Francisco apartment building. But it’s filled with subplots that go nowhere, dodgy green-screen skylines, lots of un-sexy sex scenes and acting that wouldn’t pass muster on a soft-focus soapie. The Room has garnered a massive worldwide cult following (especially in Perth!) leaving audiences stunned and laughing and is beloved by comic actors such as Kristen Bell, Paul Rudd and Alec Baldwin.

Friends, dress as your favourite character, wear tuxedos, throw plastic /eco-friendly spoons, bring roses, toss footballs, eat metaphoric apples and yell insulting comments about the quality of the film, as well as lines from the film itself. Be prepared for a really a wild evening. You won’t forget it, that’s for sure. A strange, bizarre and unique cinematic experience!

A young boy named Mahito yearning for his mother ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There, death comes to an end, and life finds a new beginning. A semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death, and creation, in tribute to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.

Produced by Studio Ghibli co-founder Toshio Suzuki, The Boy and the Heron is written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The film also features a musical score from Miyazaki’s long-time collaborator Joe Hisaishi, and the theme song for the film “Spinning Globe” was written and performed by global J-pop superstar Kenshi Yonezu. The Japanese cast is led by Soma Santoki as Mahito Maki and Masaki Suda as The Gray Heron. Additional casting includes Ko Shibaski (Kiriko), AIMYON (Lady Himi), Yoshino Kimura (Natsuko), and Takuya Kimura (Shoichi Maki). Japanese language with English subtitles.

Director-writer Emma Seligman and writer-star Rachel Sennot reunite for the hilarious follow-up to their breakout cringe comedy hit Shiva Baby.

Bottoms is a refreshingly unique raunchy comedy that focuses on two girls, PJ and Josie. Unpopular and queer, the pair come up with a bizarre plan to start a self-defense club as way to meet cheerleaders (and lose their virginities.) To their surprise, the plan works. The club gains traction and soon the most popular girls in school are beating each other up in the name of self-defense. But PJ and Josie find themselves in over their heads and in need of a way out before their plan is exposed.

Propulsive and over-the-top, Bottoms is an instant high school comedy classic that feels both current and nostalgic.

Details as per above The Boy and Heron entries.

Willy Wonka – chock-full of ideas and determined to change the world one delectable bite at a time – is proof that the best things in life begin with a dream, and if you’re lucky enough to meet Willy Wonka, anything is possible.

Based on the extraordinary character at the centre of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic children’s book and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, Wonka tells the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.

Starring Timothee Chalamet as the legendary chocolatier, with a supporting cast oozing with talent, including Hugh Grant, Olivia Colman, Sally Hawkins, Keegan-Michael Key, Matt Lucas, and Rowan Atkinson, this origin story follows a young Willy Wonka on one of his earliest adventures and the circumstances under which he met the Oompa-Loompas.
