OPENING NIGHT: MURDERDROME
What better way to open the festival than with Melbourne director Daniel Armstrong’s hyper-colored grindfest, MURDERDROME! The world’s very first ROLLER DERBY, SLASHER, EXTRAVAGANZA. Three years in the making, MURDERDROME is one of the most hotly anticipated films in the indie-genre universe and take it from us, you’re going to love every last blood-drenched frame! OPENING NIGHT EVENT: The night kicks off with Perth rockers The Insinnerators, so whether you’re a derby tragic, a gorehound or just a lover of Ozploitation goodness THIS IS A NIGHT NOT TO BE MISSED! RYAN NICHOLSON’S SFX MASTER CLASS + COLLAR
Double Feature – Canadian Ryan Nicholson is famous for his twisted SFX creations ( The X-Files, Supernatural, Scary Movie) arrives on our shores to present a SFX master class. where he takes us step by step through a prosthetics masterclass
+ COLLAR (WORLD PREMIERE) Nicholson’s much anticipated grindhouse opus – a nasty and delicious grizzly masterpiece and you get to see it before any audience on this God forsaken planet! JUGULAR (OFFICIAL PERTH PREMIERE) JJ DeCeglie’s debut feature is a ballsy, brutal and brilliant indie shocker that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat from the first frame to the last. It announces JJ DeCeglie as a major new filmmaking force.

CLOSING NIGHT: SORORAL (WORLD PREMIERE)
To finish off Monster Fest we’ve chosen one of the most spectacular films from the new wave of Aussie genre – Sam Barrett’s ode to Italian giallo, SORORAL. Sam Barrett lives and breathes genre cinema but this film is much more than mere homage, it is a serious work of art. Gorgeous cinematography, with standout performances from the likes of Perth’s Amanda Woodhams and Liam Graham, and with a cast and crew made up almost exclusively of WA talent, SORORAL is truly one of the most unique Australian films of the year – an absolute must see!
