Megan Fox’s Replacement for Transformers 3

Megan Fox’s Replacement for Transformers 3

Deadline has reported that unless negotiations fail the female lead role for Transformers 3 will go to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Rumours are that Michael Bay was down to three candidates on his shortlist of Megan Fox replacements which also included Sarah Wright and Brooklyn Decker.

Brooklyn Decker is a sports illustrated swimsuit issue model turned actress and has appeared in episodes of Ugly Betty as well as Chuck. Sarah Wright has appeared in various productions including The House Bunny, 7th Heaven and How I Met Your Mother. Rosie Hungtinton-Whitley’s filmography current includes several Victoria Secret Fashion Show appearances and multiple episodes of ‘Britain’s Next Top Model’.

So the candidates for replacing Megan Fox included a lingerie model, a swimsuit model turned actress and an actress. Sadly I can’t help but feel this is an accurate reflection of Michael Bay’s approach to the Transformers franchise in general, more concerned with looks over substance.

Production for Transformers 3 began on May 17 and the film is scheduled for release on July 1, 2011.

What do you think of the Megan Fox replacement? Is she a suitable replacement for Megan Fox? Sound off in the comments section below.

Leith spent most of his formative years growing up on the coastal fringes of Western Australia without a cinema in sight. There he grew up on the wonders of home rentals before relocating to Perth and gaining access to a proper cinematic experience just in time for the Star Wars Special Edition re-releases. From there Leith's love of movies expanded to volunteering on a Star Wars fan film, reviewing films, writing about film news, and attending film and pop-culture related conventions on the other side of the world. Leith's favourite films are too many to mention but all start with the Star Wars saga, Back to the Future, the Dark Knight trilogy, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings and all things Kevin Smith. With an insatiable appetite for all things pop-culture related Leith also has an unhealthy addiction to the world of comics and can often be found buried under a pile of unread back issues madly trying to catch up on a number of titles coming out from mostly DC and Darkhorse.
