20 years may have passed, but Robin Williams sporting a set of fake boobies still gets audiences excited, with a MRS DOUBTFIRE sequel finally in the works.
The 1993 original, in which a recently divorced struggling actor dresses as a woman to secure the job of nannying his children, cashed in impressive figures. Yet the first mention of a sequel wasn’t until 2001. After a few failed script drafts, MRS DOUBTFIRE 2 never eventuated.
This could all change, however, now they’ve got a Hollywood heavyweight manning the typewriter!
We can thank screenwriter David Berenbaum (who wrote ELF) for reactivating the project. With his attachment to write the script, studio Fox 2000 has found new hope.
Even more good news: Director Chris Columbus and Robin Williams are also said to be reuniting for the flick. Let’s not speak to soon, but it’s looking pretty darn promising!
More news as it eventuates….!
