MTV Movie Awards: Nominees Revealed!

MTV Movie Awards: Nominees Revealed!

Unhappy with the spread of Oscars this year? Well cast your eyes on the list of nominees for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards; it may just perk you up a bit.

While the Oscars are considered the ‘big guns’ when it comes to big screen accolades, the MTV Movie Awards are not to be sniffed at. Sure, categories like ‘Best Kiss’ and ‘Best Scared-As-Sh*t Performance’ may lower the tone a little (or a lot), but results could be argued as “fairer” than the Oscars as it is the general public who votes (note: Technically only residents of the USA can vote)

Inevitable popularity contest aside, the MTV Movie Awards is more reflective of what the masses appreciate than the Academy’s picks (or atleast the American masses!)

Sian's love for movies spawned from having a tight mother whose generosity stretched only to hiring movies once a week for entertainment. As a pre-teen Sian spent more pocket money then she earned on cinema tickets and thus sought a job at the cinema. Over the next decade she rose to be one of the greats in her backwater, six-screen cinema complex, zooming through the ranks from candy bar wench with upselling superpowers, to pasty projectionist, to a manager rocking a pencil skirt. Sian went on to study Journalism at university though feels her popcorn shovelling days were far more educational
