JJ Abrams is being his aloof and mysterious self once more in regards to the next star trek film, not denying that he is going to be directing, not confirming it or letting the studio know when the hell they can release it, yet somehow I am still majorly excited about it.
June 2012 was the flagged release date, which now may be seen as a fabrication. This has all but been confirmed by Deadline saying that JJ Abrams “just returned from vacation and is hunkering down with writers Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof to work on the TREK script, with the intent of beginning production early next year for a late 2012 or Summer 2013 release.”. This will create a nice little slot at the end of June for another awesome geek drool inducing entity THE NEXT GI JOE MOVIE. Said to released on the 29th of June 2012, Gi Joe: Retaliation (not Cobra Strikes, very happy about that) will continue the adventures of Channing Tatem and Ray Parks with a little Dwayne Johnson and Adrianne Palicki for extra cred.
It’s going to be a good year.
