It might not have been confirmed by the studio yet, but if his “Girls” co-stars are to be believed, Adam Driver will be playing the chief antagonist in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII film. Reports are claiming that Driver will play a villain that is similar to Darth Vader, however, no further information has been revealed about the role.
It has been rumoured that Michael Fassbender and Hugo Weaving were also considered for the same part, but that J.J Abrams chose Driver as he was his first choice. Negotiations are reportedly underway to make it official.
Written by J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan, Star Wars: Episode VII is rumored to focus on a new generation of heroes but will also include appearances by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in older incarnations of their characters from the original Star Wars trilogy.
The film will hit theaters in December, 2015.
