As if he didn’t have enough happening between his new film ‘Red State’, the talked about film ‘Hit Somebody’ and everything going on with Smodcast Internet Radio (SIR) Kevin Smith is involved with yet another project on the way, this time involving the network AMC.
It has been recently announced that AMC and Kevin Smith will be working together on the production of a new reality TV series set in Smith’s own comic book store located in New Jersey known as “Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash”.
The working title of the series is currently ‘Secret Stash’ and is intended to explore the world of comic fandom as well as the industry of comics.
Smith has been quoted regarding the new series as follows;
“Draper. Meth. Zombies. This show couldn’t be on a better network. AMC is to television what Miramax was to cinema back when I first got in the game: they’re the premier destination for any story-teller looking to spin an offbeat yarn that no other outlet has the stones to touch. And as if I didn’t love them enough, now they’re putting my friends on TV! I’m ecstatic, proud, and extremely lucky to be in bed with a network I watch religiously anyway. And if they’d pushed just a little harder in the negotiations, I’d have done this show for no payment beyond early access to every episode of, MAD MEN, BREAKING BAD, and WALKING DEAD.”
The initial order for the show consists of six, one hour episodes and is currently slated for an early 2012 release. Smith will be serving as executive producer on the show.
