NO TIME TO DIE is the 25th outing for the James Bond character and the final time 007 will be played by Daniel Craig. Craig has played the role five times beginning with CASINO ROYALE (2006), then QUANTUM OF SOLACE (2008), SKYFALL (2012) and SPECTRE (2015).
The official synopsis for the new film is: “Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”
Cary Fukunaga takes over directorial duties. He is best known for his Emmy-award winning work directing the entire first season of the True Detective series. His film work includes JANE EYRE (2010) and BEASTS OF NO NATION (2015). He co-wrote the script with Scott Z. Burns and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Craig suggested Fleabag star and creator Waller-Bridge to punch-up the dialogue.
Supporting cast includes Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Lea Seydoux and Jeffrey Wright, who have all appeared previously in the Craig-era. Christoph Waltz is also back to make a cameo appearance as Blofeld. The main villain is played by Rami Malek.
